U.S. confirmed COVID-19 cases top 60,000: Johns Hopkins University

NEW YORK, March 25 (Xinhua) -- The number of COVID-19 cases in the United States topped 60,000 as of 3:30 p.m. U.S. Eastern Time on Wednesday (1930 GMT), according to the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.

The fresh figure reached 61,167 with 849 deaths, the CSSE said.
