The tyre valve has an outer sleeve which is integral with an elastic element that has across the valve, and is rigid in a direction along the valve. The end of the valve is able to be distorted so as to pass through the hole in the wheel rim. The valve is held by compression from the inside of the tyre against the sides of the hole. The elastic element is made up of strips disposed over the cone of the valve and fitting over a split throat bush. The valve has support plate on the inside of the rim which holds the elements.
