摘要

PURPOSE:To increase the packed density of an active material by packing mixture of an active material powder, a binding agent and the like into a current collecting body so as to make a pressed molded body, and subjecting the said pressed molded body to an active material impregnation adherance treatment. CONSTITUTION:An active material such as nickel oxyhydroxide, a conductive powder such as graphite powder, and a binding agent made of polyethylene resin or the like are homogeneously mixed in an appropriate blending ratio so as to make a mixture. Next, the mixture is packed into a current collecting body such as a nickel net so that a layer of proper even thickness is formed over the current collecting body, and the layer formed over the current collecting body is heated and pressed so as to make a plate-like pressed molded body. After that, the pressed molded body is subjected to an active material impregnation adherance treatment by immersing it in an aqueous nickel nitrate solution so as to make nickel hydroxide used as an active material to be produced and filled in its numerous micro-holes, thus an electrode for a storage battery is manufactured.
