A maze device comprises a surface bearing "Home" and "Start" indications, and, beneath the surface, means to set a random pathway. A stylus is used to attempt to trace the path, and associated with the path are proximity detecting devices which monitor the progress of the stylus. The device can be used in neuropsychological assessment.
