PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize at least one emergency operation mode in an electrical system for a multivoltage vehicle in a vehicle. SOLUTION: This electrical system for a vehicle contains a plurality of power supply sources which have different voltages. The electrical system contains a plurality of electric lines 3, 5 for the vehicle, which are operated by different voltages and which comprises respective corresponding loads. The electric system contains a crossing connection means 6 which changes over the power supply sources. The crossing connection means 6 continuously connects the respective electric lines 3, 5 for the vehicle to the corresponding power supply sources. When a power failure or a missing of any of the electric lines 3, 5 in the vehicle, an additional current connection is formed in the broken-down circuit 3 or 5 for the vehicle from the sound electric circuit 3 or 5 for the vehicle. The supply of electric power from other electric circuits is guaranteed automatically for the vehicle to a load connected to the defective electric circuit 3 or 5 for the vehicle.
