How do I choose the right file format for video projects?

- Through the years, many different file formats have evolved, and there are a lot of reasons for this. That's because, originally, computer applications were often very specific. If you were using one type of tool, it often wanted to create its own file format. Now, this still exists today. For example, if you were using a tool like Microsoft Powerpoint, it would make a PPT file or a PPTX file, and that's the native file format used by Powerpoint. However, a tool like Apple Keynote, which is designed to make a presentation can often open that and convert it. Well, the same thing holds true in the world of computer graphics. For example, if you have a native Photoshop file, its extension is a .psd. However, other tools like After Effects, or many video-editing formats, can import that Photoshop document. It might not support all of the same features, but it will come in. Let me show you. So, for example, here I have a layered file that's a Photoshop document, and if I open that file…
