Several ideas for Eclipse on Linux:

1. Make a RPM that also installs a .desktop file
in /usr/share/applications including an appropriate
png icon
2. Default workspace directory in ~/.workspace,
not ~/workspace. I don't like my home directory
cluttered
3. I use Eclipse on a 450MHz Pentium with 256M RAM.
Although not very speedy, it is quite usable. However
several tasks, for example opening certain preferences
takes very long.

What I forgot:
4. A common procedure to install plugins, best directly from the IDE.

eclipse.tools is the right ng. And file feature requests in bugzilla.
