Software Integration Engineer II
The primary responsibility for this position is to provide technical leadership for the delivery of all
engineering aspects for enablement, fulfillment and operation of Data Center Solutions (DCS) servers
and infrastructure for an assigned customer group. The Solution Engineer is responsible for
understanding customer requirements, to oversee the sample process, and to drive evaluation and
adoption of DCS server and storage systems. This is accomplished by ensuring that DCS develops
appropriate (feature & quality) systems to meet customer needs, as well as enabling customers to
integrate those systems into their operations. The measures of success for this position are: business
results within the assigned customer base, product quality delivered to the customer, timely resolution
of issues found and customer satisfaction with DCS products and engineering relationship.
Specific expectations of this position include:
•
Partnering with the System Engineer (HW) to provide technical support for all customer
engagements; before, during and after the sales process.
•
Leading the development of RFP responses for the customer, working with DCS architecture and
program management teams to ensure technically compliant and competitively relevant
responses.
•
Driving DCS technical product development teams to deliver the right products for the customer,
and to drive quality into the products during all phases of the product life-cycle.
•
Supporting sample build and coordination across all DCS business bases. Sample builds include
testing and validation of customer specified features, benchmarks and other metrics.
•
Evaluation and testing of new prototype server platforms; providing feedback to product
development teams on issues found and compliance with product and customer requirements
•
Providing engineering support for delivery of systems to customers, including support at
factories during product builds as well as support at integration facilities to ensure systems are
correctly built, integrated at the rack or container level, and configured prior to deployment to
customers.

Partnering with the Services Account Manager to ensure that field operations within your base
are meeting the customer expectation. Support for this includes on-site support as required in
addition to providing technical direction to services on periodic platform updates and service
actions.

Work with marketing to ensure that your customer priorities and requirements are tracked,
understood and incorporated into future product plans.
•
Stay in close synchronization with other system/solution engineers.
•
Extensive x86 system engineering experience in either the development of computer or storage
systems through an ODM relationship or through direct systems engineering development
experience.
•
Prior experience with BIOS and BMC firmware development experienced preferred.
•
Strong ability in organizing and managing multiple projects, setting priorities and working
independently under aggressive timelines.
•
Ability to write and analyze requirements, functional specifications, design specifications, test
plans, and documentation.
