Best Jump Horses Of The Past Decade

We have been lucky to grow up during the golden generation of the jump racing era, as we have been lucky enough to see some of the greatest racehorses not just in our lifetime, but in history. Over the past 10 years, we have been blessed with some of the best jumping performances from horses and so we thought we’d look back over the decade at some of the greatest horses of the decade.

Sprinter Sacre was seriously one of them horses that comes around once in a generation and Nicky Henderson knew that he had hit a goldmine with this horse from the very first race. Although he did win his first race going off at 8/11 favourite, many didn’t think this performance was that impressive, but boy did he prove many wrong. In fact, Timeform gave him a rating of 192 at one point in his career, one of the highest ratings that they have ever given out. The final hurrah saw him take on Willie Mullins’ Un De Sceaux which was a battle we all couldn’t wait for, but there was only going to be one winner in Sprinter Sacre.

Whilst the jump season this year has end, many horse racing punters have been looking at some ante-post bets for next season on these available betting sites. This is since that they are able to offer some of the best odds on the upcoming meets like the Irish Racing Festival and Cheltenham.

Tiger Roll is another jump horse that we can’t not have on this list of the best jump horses of the past decade. Having won the Triumph Hurdle back in 2014, his career started to go into reverse but would then go onto win the National Hunt Novice’s Chase at Cheltenham in 2017 and kicked on from there. Tiger Roll went on to win back-to-back Grand Nationals and will certainly go down as one of the best racehorses of all time.

And finally, Nicky Henderson thought that Sprinter Sacre was one of a lifetimes, but when we came across Altior, I bet he couldn’t believe his luck. Altior won the Supreme voices Hurdle, being heavy favourite Mid by seven lengths. Furthermore, Altior went on went on to win the Arkle Chase, 2018 Champion Chase and then defended it back in 2019. Although Altior was an impressive horse, he could never eclipse the impressive displays of Sprinter Sacre.
