Debatable Space by Philip Palmer
It's got hot babes, awesome weapons of massive destruction, bloodthirsty pirates, a tyrannical despot, and fight for freedom. It also takes place in outer space.

According to fantasybookcritic.blogspot.com - 'gleefully violent and wildly unpredictable.' And that it is -exactly.

Book of the famous(?) Filipino Author, Bob Ong. I just got into his books last week and I read from book 1 to book 6 and currently reading his 7th book, Kapitan Sino. Haha. I just love the humor of this local book :)

Still reading "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" by Stieg Larsson.

I'm still not very far but it's picking up. My only issue with it is that it's has too many "Let me tell you a story..." kind of situations, where it's literally one character explaining some piece of history that is supposedly relevant to the plot. It's tiring to read through, even if it's interesting. What happened to the "show, don't tell" rule of thumb?

Just finished "Speak" by Laurie Halse Anderson

It was pretty good, I really enjoyed the way it was written. It just had a certain wit to it while developing the main character really well. The insight of what she was going through was really well done, and I really enjoyed it. Good read.

Last book I was reading, I finished it ages ago... Meanwhile I'm reading a load of magazines and scientifical articles I had here to read.

Next book I'm starting was a gift from a dear friend, that I delayed because it's really complicated for me... A non-English-Native... "Only Revolutions" by Mark Z. Danielewski

I am currently reading, "Shōgun," by James Clavell. I find it interesting that there's the omniscient point-of-view in here, basically making like 5 main characters I would say. The characters are "based" off of real people in history, but the story doesn't make things happen like history. The book, to me, just sucks you into 1600's Japan. And if you don't like getting into people's minds in books, then this isn't for you.

I feel weird posting here for the second time, but oh well, gotta spread the book love.
Re-reading To Kill A Mockingbird(and we all know who wrote that) for no particular reason for the hundredth time. Reading The Day of the Traffids (John Wyndham), Mimus (Lilli Thal) and Shattered (Eric Walters).

EDIT: Oh wait! How could I forget? The third Adrian Mole book (Sue Townsend). Hilarius to the point of tearing up.

The Cradle will Fall - Mary Higgins Clarke

It's a great thriller and a mystery. Not a very intricate story (as we already know who the primary criminal is) but the emotions expressed, especially that of the mastermind criminal, are brilliant.

Reading two books, one a historical biography of Marcus Aurelius and the other is a history of Japan from the 14th-17 centuries.
There are three kinds of intelligence: one kind understands things for itself, the other appreciates what others can understand, the third understands neither for itself nor through others. This first kind is excellent, the second good, and the third kind useless.

Some book about the development of the modern Turkish and Iranian states. Seems for the most part to be an exercise in comparative politics. Interesting what was happening to both of em at around the same time.
