In this instance, I've broken it down into four easy steps. They are: – Get A Blog – Grow Your Blog – Get Traffic – Monetize Your Traffic That's it. Four easy, no cost steps and you're in business. Let's take a look at these steps one after the other. GET A BLOG This is a no brainer. All we need to do is go get a FREE blog at blogger.com http://www.blogger.com It takes only a few minutes to set your blog up. There is no need going into details about how to do that. I'm sure you can easily do it. Here are a few things I'll however like to suggest when you're opening your blogger. The Name Of Your Blog Give your blog a name that will not portray it as blog that deals with only a particular kind of niche. Give it a “general” name. Let me tell you what I mean. If you give your blog a name like makemoneyonline.blogspot.com then you will be narrowing the kinds of posts you can have in there. I will explain to you later why this will be a disadvantage. I know a lot of people shout niche marketing, targeting and all that. With this concept however, niche marketing in not in our dictionary. So you need to give your blog a “general” name that can accommodate all kinds of topics and discussions. Look at my example above at alanstonesblog.blogspot.com I can discuss virtually anything under it because the name is generic. You can come up with other names for your blog like marksdiary.blogspot.com (That is if your name is Mark :-) The Settings Of Your Blog When setting up your blog, there are some basic things that aid the growth of your blogs. One of them is the blogger toolbar. If you open a free blog at blogger, a tool bar will automatically be installed at the top of your blog. It looks like this. The danger of having this at the top of your blog is that your visitors can easily leave your blog by clicking on the next blog link on it. That is not what we want. We want our visitors to stay on how sites and take actions that will make us money. So we need to hide this bar from your visitors. Here is how to go about it. Step 1: Log into your account Step 2: Click on "layout". Then click on "edit HTML" When you get there, you'll see lots of codes in the "edit template" box. On the 8th line of those codes, you'll see Step 3: Click after and press enter on your keyboard. Step 4: Paste the following codes: Step 5: Click "Save Template" That's it. Check out your blog and the bar must have vanished. Another part of my setting that I like adjusting whenever I set up new blogs is templates. You should choose a template that you feel cool with. I like the one called “Tic Tac”. I use it on all my blogs. Now you know how to get a blog. Let's move on to the next step. I told you it was going to be easy. GROW YOUR BLOG You need to start posting on your blog right away. In fact, it won't be a bad idea if you can make 10 posts in the next 30 minutes. The higher your number of posts, the better for your search engine optimization. I know you're wondering how you can possibly do that. I'll tell you but first, let us talk about what you should be posting about. MAKE POSTS ABOUT WHAT PEOPLE ARE SEARCHING FOR People are always searching for different terms online. All you need to do is discover for free, what people are searching for at a particular period, usually at a particular hour. Now don't start thinking about comprehensive keyword analysis and softwares like word trackers and keyword elite. We don't need all that. We will get ours for free from google. To know what people are searching for at a particular time, you need to check out google hot trends. Google hot trends is a service that shows you the terms that have risen in popularity at a particular period. For instance, if Osama Bin Laden was to be captured today, I can assure you that many people will be going to the search engines, especially google to search for terms like “Osama, Osama Bin Laded, Capture of Osama” and so on. But you don't need to figure it out yourself. Google can update you every time you want. http://www.google.com/trends/hottrends That is what you need. It's free to use. As much as 100 search terms that have risen in popularity are always there for you to explore. As I type this, here is what it looks like below. Your job from now on is to make posts about these terms. You know people are actively searching for them so you need to be fast about it so google can pick you up quickly so you can be among the search results when people are searching for those terms. HOW DO YOU FIND ARTICLES TO POST ABOUT THESE TOPICS? That was the first question I got asked when I was sharing this technique with a friend a couple of days back. Private label right? Not at all! Not in any way. You probably won't find private label rights on these topics. Remember these topics change often and they could be about anything. Remember the Osama Bin Laden example I gave above. Do you have PLR materials on Osama Bin Laden? I doubt it. So what should you do? Simple. Start by clicking on any of the terms you want to make a post about. Let's look at number one on the list. “Mini goldendoodle”. Personally, I don't have an idea of what that is, yet we will make a post about it right away. I clicked on it and it took me straight to this page below. From the image above, we can get more information about the search term. We now know how hot the search term is (it could be volcanic, spicy, mild etc). Volcanic means it is very hot right now. We also know that the search peaked 2 hours ago. That is very good. It wise to avoid terms that peaked as much as 5 to 10 or more hours ago. That means it is coming down in popularity. We can also find other related searches which will be good for our search engine purposes. So to make a post about the search term “mini goldendoodle”, all you need to do is click on any of the news related to it that catches your fancy. Copy the news and paste on your blog. Give credit to the source of the article and you will be fine. No copyrights violated. Now you can understand when I said you can make 10 posts in the next 30 minutes. Just copy and paste the articles under the hottest keywords and bingo, you will have a busy blog google would be crawling within 10 minutes. Lastly, if you have any topic in mind that you will like to add as well to add a some originality to your blog, feel free to do so. I do it occasionally ans it's been worthwhile. A particular example comes to mind. Not too long ago, a popular soccer coach in the United Kingdom called Jose Mourinho got sacked from his job. As soon as I heard the breaking news on TV, I posted it on my blog and I got well ranked for the terms “Jose Mourinho and Jose Mourinho Sacked”. The ride lasted for about 2 weeks. It was nice. GET TRAFFIC TO YOUR BLOG We all know the importance of traffic in this business. Without traffic, nothing happens.. Your blog will look like an old ghost town. Although google would crawl your sites naturally and give you good ranking if you're quick enough, you still need to go out there and do a bit of work to get more traffic. I use social bookmarking sites to promote my blogs. They are free and fun to use. It doesn't take your time either. Those are the reasons why I like it. All you need to do is to post your news on your favourite bookmarking sites as soon as you post them on your blogs. The reasons are numerous but here are the main ones. You will be getting backlinks to your blogs from established websites with high PR. Also when you break a hot news, people will read your news and in most cases visit your blog to see the other nice stuffs you've got. So here are the social bookmarking sites that I use that have worked for me in the past. – Digg,com – Del.icio.us – Technorati.com – Twitter.com – Reddit.com – Google Bookmarks And more. You need to open an account each with these sites. Once you do that, you can start submitting your news to them. If that sounds like hard work to you, there are some tools online that you can use to submit your post to all the major bookmarking sites with just a click. I love making money. If there is no financial reward to all these efforts, it won't be worth doing or will it? We need to make money from it and I will be telling you how. If you're not new to Internet marketing, you will know the major ways of making money online. Affiliate marketing, asdense, resale rights, your own products, pay per lead etc, All those methods are methods that have been proven to work so you can do anyone you wish to. But here is the kicker. I don't make all the money I from one source. It's an accumulation of earnings from my blogs that earns me as much as $50 a day. I usually earn between $5 to $10 a day from adsense. I normally make one affiliate sale in two days. That is usually a commission of $25. I also do some pay per lead. So it's not as if there is one magic method that earns me $50 a day. Like I said, it's an accumulation. That is what I want you to understand as you start this business. So here is a breakdown of what I do. AFFILIATE MARKETING This means reselling other people's products for a commission. There are countless products out there that you can promote on your website. The clickbank marketplace will give you an idea. http://www.clickbank.com/marketplace.htm When picking products to promote, make sure it's a product with mass appeal. Do not pick a niche product. Remember your traffic is not targeted to a particular niche. The type of traffic that comes in today will be different from the one coming in tomorrow. Pick mass appeal products like, softwares that cleans your computers. Everyone reading your blog is doing so using a computer, very likely a personal one so that makes the product appealing. Go though the marketplace and you will see mass appeal products. ADSENSE This is the easiest way to get started. I'm sure you've heard of it. It's an advertising program by google whereby contextual ads are placed on your blog ao you can earn money per every click on it. You don't need to sell, you get paid per click. Go to google to get more information about it. http://www.google.com/adsense Before you register, make sure you have a few posts on your blog already or google will not accept you. If you have an existing account, the new blogger works well with adsense so you don't need to log into your adsense account everytime. PAY PER LEAD This is another form of affiliate program. You make money for every visitor you send over that opts in to join a mailing list. Sometimes you get paid as much as $5 per person. They don't have to buy anything, just to opt in and you will earn money. There are many pay per lead programs out there. You can find many of them at commission junction. http://www.cj.com SIDE NOTE Try as much as possible to pick products that provide you with ready made banners you can use. That makes your job easier. Your kinds of visitors are those that click on banners so banners are absolutely necessary. CONCLUSION You can see these techniques are dead simple. It doesn't require any special skill to do. It doesn't require much time and it doesn't require money.
