LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 11 (R), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

Base source code is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to the project, please visit our Gerrit Code Review.

GPL compliance:

  • Formatting data (all user data is wiped, including internal storage) is a must if MIUI was previously installed and device was encrypted.

Here is the link to working gapps for android R :)

NikGapps-R

- Comes with core package (mininum apps required to run playstore)
- Comes with Pixel Launcher (starting macro, stock and full package) (you need to set pixel launcher as default home app if you're flashing any of those packages)
- Comes with Google Dialer (that replaces aosp dialer)
- Comes with vanced youtube (v14), those of you who prefer stock youtube can easily update the app from playstore
- 'Select' option in Recents works perfectly
- App Suggestions works perfectly
- The installation is fully configurable, you can skip installing the package you want, you can skip removal of aosp counter part (using nikgapps.config)

You can checkout NikGapps Website for all the details regarding the project

Anyone else having no LTE connection?

I have something similar on LOS 17.1. I always have to flash lineage-17.1-20200912-nightly-beryllium-signed.zip at first, start into LOS, then update with the LOS updater to latest build to make sure that LTE connects fine.
Maybe it is related.

Can someone help me? I came from MIUI and I formated everything and flashed the firmware, rom and gapps in TWRP but after booting it's asking for a password, I did factory reset, wiped everything again but it's still asking for a password. Actually it's telling my that my data is corrupted?
update: never mind I figured out formatting and choosing data in the options and "formatting data" are different things

Great ROM. Everything works really well, Gapps is a little buggy but the ROM itself is fine except for one issue.

Bluetooth doesn't connect out of the box to the JBL flip 5. We need to go into developers options and there are now a whole plethora of bluetooth options. I had to disable the Bluetooth A2DP hardware offload for it to connect. But for some reason even after connection music plays through the phone speaker. I tried all the options but none of them worked. Any tips to make it work? My smart watch connected without issues, I think this is only related to music streaming.

Wired headset works great and many thanks for including the Dirac sound enhancer.

New build is out. It includes March's security patch.
    22
New build is up, with this month's Android security fixes already included and working WiFi Display.
    21
Having built the ROM with this patch, I can also confirm that it resolves my issues with auto brightness.
@bgcngm, it would be great if the patch was included.
Very likely. I am noticing these auto-brightness issues more often now while working on Android 12 and it's driving me nuts. Will give it a try and if it fixes the issue I will apply it over to the current builds.
    20
@bgcngm you will be working in lineage 19/19.1?
It's ready, I just didn't share any unofficial build yet.
