I'm looking to buy one!!

Enviado desde mi Nexus 5 mediante Tapatalk
hmmmm. 24 hours into using this cheap version from China. not sure how much power it should supply but I seem to be getting about 60% extra phone charge from the case. I ve not owned a battery case before but I would expect a little more power to compensate for the extra weight and size.
how much charge do these other cases seem to offer please?

First of all the case appears of robust construction. Not too heavy but it does appear to make the phone just over double its normal thickness. I've not found it a problem but some may.

I removed the screen protector from the case as it was "slightly" reducing screen response as I already use a screen protector anyway.

I use Google nav a fair amount and normally us it with the phone on USB charge. I did the same with the zerolemon via it's USB charge input port when the battery was full on both the battery pack and phone but the charge didn't seem to be able to keep up with the discharge when running nav and screen ON. I don't know if it is my charger not able to provide enough to charge both devices or the pass through charge to the phone is lower than the direct connection charge. ( I have to do a few more tests on that yet )

The battery pack itself charges OK. I normally stick the phone on charge over night just to top up both the pack and phone. No problems...

Also seems to recharge a flat phone and a bit!, on one full charge of the zerolemon.

I wonder if once the pack gets discharged beyond a certain point it is unable to do a proper charge ? It hasn't been a problem for me as I prefer to top up the phone and not wait for it to go very low..
Thanks for replying. So, based on your current experience, would you recommend the battery case? Thanks!

I can not reply about the charge, but 60% is about 5 more hours? If that is the case I would expect at least 10 hours. The original battery is 1300 mha iirc, and this is 3500 mha, so it should be at least 10 hours.

What about build quality and fit? I heard many complains that they are cheaply made and do not fit well the phone.

Also, is the one you are talking about this one? http://r.ebay.com/2k5AJG

I don't mind the weight, it's a bit like having HTC back in my pocket. for me the size is also good and can still fit into pocket. it doubles and a bit the phone width. sticks out about 1mm on the sides and top. extends 1cm at the bottom.
it feels like it's a delicate bit of kit to me, I have been very careful with it thus far as I don't think it could withstand much action.
charging seems to take around 3 hours just for the case but I hadn't actually timed it.
as for fit, the phone is basically sat on a tray secured by the USB connection and a press down clip on the top. the case wraps about 3mm around the bottom corners of the phone to stop the phone snapping USB charger.
because of this the top of the phone moves 2/3mm left and right with very little resistance ( ie. in and out of pocket etc) but seems to do the job.

would be interested to know if anyone else has one and if they have the same charging problem I seem to be having. with phone in case and case plugged into wall charger the phones charge is intermittent, on and off, the case charge lights are constant so not sure what's happening really. can't imagine this type of charge would be good for the phone....

So what you mean is that while it fits fine, the nexus moves a little bit, around 2 or 3 mm, but it does not appears to be a problem.

That is a serious problem. Have you tried another charger or another cable? Did you try with the original charger?

Also, I would expect at least an additional 10 hours. The original battery is 1300 mha iirc, and this is 3500 mha, so it should be at least 10 hours.

yes that's the one, they also do one with a flip cover too. its 3800mah.
changed the charging wire and it appears to charge normal now(well for the last 5mins anyway).

And yes the phone does move about on the case about 2/3mm but only at the top of the phone as the bottom is secured by the case itself. Its not a problem, it just makes it a bit more delicate to handle.

The photos are fine when using flash also, as some cases (shiny ones) do cause glare but the hole for the camera is too small for any macro lens to fit.
I wish these manufactures would put a thread on the cases for camera lenses, be so much easier...

It doesn't come with a charger, I am using my N5 charger. I will contact the seller in a couple of days when I have used it a bit more.
I know it does not comes with a charger, but you can try different ones just in case. Please, keep us posted. I'm really interested in this.

I also bought it because it was so cheap. It will add about 80% to the battery for a full charge.
How many hours would that be? About 8? What about build quality and fit? Do you believe is good enough, or would you rather spend 20 more on a Zerolemon?

How many hours would that be? About 8?

It took 1.5-2 hours for the case to charge the phone from 10 % up to 90 %. How long a 90 % battery charge lasts depends very much on usage.

I would rather not spend more because I'm not going to use it that often - just when I expect to be away from an outlet for a long time. The build quality is lousy. I already broke the (very difficult to pull out) kickstand.

My review of zerolemon case... Heavy duty case, a bit big for my pocket now though. The connection from battery to phone is difficult to remove by hand while the phone is in the case. Also, I have a bad habit of misplacing that small u shaped connector. There is not much clearance around the charging port of the case, nor the phone port either. Several of the charging cables I own will are too bulky. The battery pack itself has 2 charging ports, one of which is now slightly damaged due to my girlfriend taking the force approach to make charger cables fit. I seem to get about 1 to 1.5 charges out of the case before recharge. I feel current is limited, as it loses charge while using nav and Spotify on my appradio. If you use slimport HDMI like I do with my appradio, you will have to remove the u shaped charger connector as HDMI is not passed through the battery. I didn't really expect it to be... But I didn't realize how annoying it would be to remove each time I get in the car. I have now taken to putting a little string loop tied to the connector for easier removal. Also, it isn't a huge thing, but it sucks to try to remove the phone from the case. Not impossible, but annoying.

Tl;Dr: heavy duty, 1.5 charges, not easy to remove charge connector, happy with purchase, just wish it was smaller

Thanks. It seems you are not very happy with it. But the problem seems to be that the other option are also not much better, while much more expensive, and half the price but terrible construction.... I don't understand how can te iphone get so many quality and cheap cases and the nexus none. By the way, would you buy it again?

I've tried 3 battery cases now and sent them all back. Fiddly, very very slow charging times and too bulky. I'd rather carry round an external battery pack..

Interesting comment, but, without more information, not very helpful.

Apologies. Ive tried the zerolemon, limefuel and the iblason cases and what I was hoping for was an easy fix when im out all day drinking. A bit of extra protection from drops and an extra battery charge at least. However on some of them it was that fiddly taking it on and off you wouldn't want to do it on a regular basis. They were TOO bulky and the charge was soooo slow. On some if I was using the phone the battery would continue to drop whilst on charge.

Ive just found it a lot more convenient to carry round a 6500 mah external charger which is less bulky and charges way faster...

That is what I'm looking for also.

So you mean that because they are (all?) so bulky you don't want to have them on all the time? You says that "SOME" are difficult to take off, which one is easy to take off?

On some if I was using the phone the battery would continue to drop whilst on charge.
which one has this problem of the 3?

Ive just found it a lot more convenient to carry round a 6500 mah external charger which is less bulky and charges way faster...
I also considered and external charger, but it seems to be a pain to carry a separate thing.
