This is in no way my development. I have just found this out after a lot of searching. Original threads have not been updated and hence they are not working. Also, the process has changed so I thought I will make an updated thread which works with the latest version of chrome.
Have you ever wanted to get your hands on the latest game, only to find that the Google Play (Android Market) thought it wasn't compatible with your phone?
Maybe you don't have a Tegra 3 device, but you're pretty sure an Exynos4412 could handle it still.
App not available in your country
APK Downloader will allow you to download an apk file from the Android Market directly to your desktop rather than to your device.
You'll need the latest version of Chrome then you supply your device ID, email address and password (all stored locally on your computer to grab the Android Market cookie).
From there you pick the app you want and you'll have the apk file on your computer, allowing you to sideload it onto any of your Android devices!
How To Use
- Download the pre-packaged extension: apk-downloader.crx.
- Click the Settings icon on the right of your URL bar.
- Select Tools > Extensions.
- Once the download has finished, drag the download to the Extensions page.
- When you are asked to Confirm New Extension, press the Add button.
- Now click on the Option link
- To be able to download from the Play Store, you need to authenticate all requests. Therefore you need to "log in to your Google Account" at the extension's option page.
Please uninstall earlier (1.4 and earlier) versions of this extension before updating to the this latest version
For the Device ID:
- Type *#*#8255#*#* in the Dial Pad
It will take you to the Google Service Monitor
- Find your Device ID
- After Logging In open Play Store and find your app
- Click on the small icon in the right of the Address Bar
Voila! Your app is downloaded
