Mine has become a bit laggy. After swiping to activate, it now takes over 5 seconds to show.

I've noticed that weird behavior when HomeFlip is not attached to the home key, make sure it is (clear defaults or reinstall).

Is there any option to see only the running tasks? and/or to show some kind of identification of the running tasks among the recent tasks?

please try to reduce the memory.
it takes almost 30mb of memory!

Peoples, every Android apps "takes" between 20 to 40 mb of ram, regardless of actual use , the system caches as much as it can (bitmap etc...). This is NOT locked memory, its available for the system at any time. Rules of thumb, does your device works? Then its fine.. Apple got it right by not exposing these data to the lay user, I wonder how many forum-post trees they saved! :)

That black "no tasks" screen that comes up on first boot and stays for a while is sort of a pane. It will not swipe or home-key away. Eventually it disappears and the launcher populates.

it works wonderfully well. very useful app infact. all thanks to you :) but I was only asking if the memory print could be decreased. there are apps I know that take only 5-6 mb. hmmm full screen app? :) it takes very less memory. there are apps that take really less memory.

This should now be fixed (version 1.26a).

Let me know if it works for you (tested on various devices but who knows, its Android after all :)).

Sure, by disabling all drawing caches, it can be made to "takes" about 9 mb, but what the point ?
Think about it, this memory is cached by the system in order to improve your experience but as soon as the system needs ram, these memory blocks are made available, no question asked.

Tell me, what is free/unused memory good for ?... nothing, absolutely nothing, doesn't serve any purpose, doesn't improve your Android experience what so ever, A good mobile os should (and does) 'use' as much memory as possible for cache.

I know it is counter intuitive at first, but if your goal is to increase the amount of free memory available at any point in time on your device, your are missing out on what the very clever Android's memory management as to offer.

And don't get me started on the 10-20 emails a day I receive every single day asking me to implement the "kill task" feature! :)

For peoples really interested in the subject, it's gonna take your more efforts than just looking at some 'poweruser' stats, compile Android from source, log block allocations and release, write stress tests, etc... this would be the price of real understanding, but short of that, ignorance is bliss!:)

Awesome app. Is there any chance of adding shortcut support?

the last release doesnt work in select apps mode

Really don't understand the last release of HomeFlip. I cannot chose anymore my favorites, or quit any apps from the launcher. I am running ICS on Xperia arc S.

There are a lot of these around now, some boasting only favorites, some only recent apps. Claim to be Ubuntu UI (Ubuntu's get all apps from the left, recent ones from the right, I believe) Homeflip one is still the leanest and works great.

A next step: I have the contact-notifications running and this is a nice functionality. But why on the notifications drawer? How about a second swipe region to get selected contacts for quick call/sms/open?

BTW, some of the side-swipers are more obtrusive than others. I had such on overlay up to get directly to previous app. Interfered too much with normal screen gestures. Some are too difficult to actuate at all. Homeflip is in the "middle" -- sometimes get it instead of the next homescreen, but the functionality mostly quite effective.

Fonts

Please can someone tell me where I need to put custom fonts to be able to apply via Homeflip's settings?
I have tried 9in phone's internal storage);
com.lean_and_mean.HomeFlip root
com.lean_and_mean.HomeFlip/files
com.lean_and_mean.HomeFlip/lib
I'm still stuck on default font.
It's a great app!

Importing fonts.

Just copy your fonts wherever you want, then click on then with a file browser and choose HomeFlip as target when asked. HomwFlip will then import them and make them accessible via settings / theme. Note that once imported you can delete them from the original location.

Hope it helps.

I have tried, using File Expert, Unicopt, All-in-one Toolbox File Manager and ES Explorer 3, but none show HomeFlip as an option. Do I have to alter mime types, etc,?
Edit;
I tried altering ttf mime associations to no avail. Found HomeFlip option, but default font still the only option.

Okay, while I can say that this certainly isn't evergoing to beat SwipePad for a poweruser, it CAN BE ADDED as one of the titles to further increase SwipePad usability. Very cool. Thanks for the app.

Actually, I was using SwipePad before I decided to develop HomeFlip, It didn't suit me for the following reasons:

    - The swipe gesture works 99% of the time, which is great, but the 1% drove me insane.
    - I moved to a Galaxy Note 2, the swipe gesture start to lose its appeal with a 5.5inch screen in one handed operations.
    - 826 K... for a launcher...
    - Permissions: DIRECTLY CALL PHONE NUMBERS, FULL NETWORK ACCESS, MODIFY OR DELETE THE CONTENTS OF YOUR USB STORAGE MODIFY OR DELETE THE CONTENTS OF YOUR SD CARD, CONTROL VIBRATION, VIEW NETWORK CONNECTIONS... Are these really necessary for an app launcher ??

As for the definition of 'poweruser', well perhaps I'm not one, but I use my phone every single day for work, very heavily, and for me, even a fade-in effect is a waste of time :), I need to switch from task to task fast and hard!

That being said, SwipePad is an excellent app and if I had not switched to a new phone, I would probably still be using it.

    Thanks!
