My review of Asda - possibly the worst supermarket around?

You’re lucky, I see my granny!

I see nothing, maybe it’s a Nosferatu thing or perhaps Asda sell dodgy mirrors?

You would be surprised at the knowing winks I get from lady’s of a certain age when I am comparing the lengths of the cucumbers😀

Cucumbers? No wonder I’ve been pitifully disappointed in life … I only haunt the celery section.

A lesson learned then young Morty, you meet a better class of pervert in the cucumber section, trust me

You think I should keep well away from courgettes then? And runner beans?

(is this off-topic?) … I mean I can peruse and finger all these perishables at Asda, as they arrange their produce nicely.

Certainly not, we are reviewing the quality of goods at Asda, and I think I speak for all female Asda shopper when I say they try to hide a little smirk when sifting through the cucumbers and hope they can suppress a titter when they run it past the young male checkout assistant

Personally, I won’t shop in ASDA (ot Tesco if it comes to that) because of their stance of selling Halal meat. There’s no real proof that the animals were pre-stunned before slaughter.

You could just buy pork and bacon Judd.

I think you may have to add Sainsburys and Morrisons to that list of selling unstunned Halal meat.

Talking about classy supermarkets…what about Aldi…?

At least Sainsbury’s label theirs clearly so one can avoid them - and they are not mixed in with ‘normal’ meats.

Isn’t all New Zealand lamb stunned Halal?

Ah yes, found it, I’d thought I read it somewhere

It’s not strictly true that halal isn’t mixed in with their normal meats

The do label their own halal range which is deliberately produced by them to be halal

But New Zealand lamb is all pre stunned, then halal blessed and Sainsbury’s do use that, either as lamb chops, mince, joints etc or in their ready meals etc and it isn’t labelled halal then

Most supermarkets are the same

The new forum rules are that you have to start your own thread on a different shop giving a % rating. Mix and match is frowned upon by the Bots that be…

At one moment in time yesterday, the homepage/most recent thread list had 10 out of the first 12 of them as shop reviews. Thought I’d come to the wrong site for a moment :joy::rofl::yum:

Have heard that - but am not sure. I don’t buy it anyway - prefer Welsh.

I do, but other stuff, I get from the local farm shop - better quality too.

Just returned from Asda, after all it’s Tuesday and I am not too middle class to admit. :grinning:
Absolute brill, bit tge bananas were too green and the strawberries far too big. We use scan and go which is so much faster than queuing up with the poor people

Note: smileys added in order to indicate humour.
