When trying to log into forums.anandtech.com at
http://forums.anandtech.com/login.cfm (either with "remember me" checked or
without) the cookie doesn't set correctly. It actually displays on the screen
for a moment an then returns the user to http://forums.anandtech.com with no login.

A check of Cookie Manager shows the 2 proper cookies accepted, but the user can
not login.

For an example of the cookies-shown-on-page go here:
http://www.phule.net/cookie-moz.jpg

This has been happening with nightly builds for about a week now. Currently I'm
running 2001052111.
I wonder if this could be related to bug 81451 which I am currently working on.
It could be related. In this case, however, the cookies do contain values yet I'm
still not able to login to forums.anandtech.

As further info, I have tried deleting the cookies and getting them re-set with
the same results all around: cookies have info, but not allowing a login.
Wanted to add the following:
I realized today that something else is going on. This may be cookie related or
it may not.

When I go to forums.anandtech.com, even before trying to login, I notice the url
changes in the navagation bar. Rather than showing http://forums.anandtech.com/
the url is transformed to:
http://connect.247media.ads.link4ads.com/serv/1/anandtech/anandtech_section/anandtech_software/19844;type=t;uniq=randnum

link4ads.com is not listed in my block-cookies list. I thought that perhaps it
could be related, because when I go to http://www.theregister.co.uk/ a similar
thing happens: The url gets transformed to:
http://ad.uk.doubleclick.net/adi/theregister.co.uk/regindex;area=regindex;pos=1;sz=468x60;tile=1;ord=12345?
and doubleclick _is_ in my block-cookies list.
Now that bug 81451 has been fixed, are you still seeing this problem?
Yes, I still see this bug.
I'm using the nightly build from

http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/nightly/2001-05-24-22-trunk/
Am I still the only one seeing this bug?

What changed after 0.9 that could have caused this?

As further information, I'm attaching 2 screen captures. The first is from 0.9
and the second is from the win32 nightly here:
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/nightly/2001-06-06-22-trunk/

Both captures are of the "view cookies" screen. Notice how on 0.9, which does
not show this error, there are 3 cookies from anandtech whereas on the nightly
(and in 0.9.1 but that's beyond the scope of this bug report I think), there are
only 2.
I believe that this is a dup of bug 83625 which I just fixed this morning. That
was a regression that occured on May 11, so the timing is perfect too. Try this
with tomorrow's build, and if you are still seeing the problem, then reopen.

Running build 2001061120

Deleted the whole "bin" directory to "start fresh" and also created a new
profile. Unzipped the above build and....

The error is still there.

It won't set the 3rd cookie. Either it's specific to my system, I'm just
cursed, or there really is more going on.

b.t.w. just as a test, I copied the info from the 3rd cookie out of the
cookies.txt file into the cookies.txt file for this build (in the new profile)
and (of course) it works fine. As long as I don't delete the anandtech cookies
with the cookie manager, I'll be able to login. If no one else is seeing this
error, then maybe it should just be chalked up to "one of those things" on my end?
Please supply me with the following information so I can investigate further.

1. Exact set of steps that you performed, describing what happened at each step
and what you believe should have happened instead.

2. A username/password that I can use for accessing this site. I tried creating
one giving fictitious information but discovered that they intend to e-mail me
with the information that I need in order to complete the registration. I don't
want to supply them with my true e-mail address.

Thanks.
