User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:45.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/45.0
Build ID: 20160420142932

Steps to reproduce:

Updated to 46.0 on Linux amd64 and noticed a Places UI regression due to Gtk3.

Actual results:

Pressing Ctrl-Shift-O gave focus to the left pane, more specifically the last entry in the tree view. Now I have to first select Bookmarks Menu, click once and then click a second time to give focus to the right pane which actually list the entries.

When does one do this? Going through and selecting a bookmarks in the bookmarks menu.

Expected results:

Pressing Ctrl-Shift-O in 45 did correctly put you focus in the right pane where one usually has three list entries: Bookmarks Toolbar, Bookmarks Menu, Unsorted Bookmarks. Here we press Down and then Return to enter the bookmarks list.
As evident from my UA, I've reverted to 45-ESR.
There are more bugs with Gtk3, like any window first showing up as a single black rectangle before widgets are drawn, but that's a general bug with Gtk3 and not Firefox specific. I just wish we had the option to follow a Gtk2 channel for Firefox.
