BMX TREASURE
This bike had one original owner (untill me) and he got this bike when he was 14 years old. The serial number is NRC DG 005. I picked up the bike in Sacramento CA, as an almost complete bike. It had an old suntour neck, Campagnalo cranks with a titanium spindle and sealed BB, a weinmann brake set up and I believe old A&A bars. I am currently in the process of searching for parts to build this bike how I want it. The wheels to the bike are still in the attic from which he pulled the bike out of at an old house he used to live in so some where the old wheels still exist in someones attic! With a special thanks to "Bomat" Bob, he has given me a little history about this frame and I qoute,"It was built in the first batch of 12 frames on November 8,1980. Frames also built in this batch were Wade's first(of 2) personal racer, NOMURA 1-whereabouts unknown-and TUNI 1,the frame ridden by NRP's first PRO rider Turnell Henry-also NOT located yet!"
It doesn't always matter how much money you make, its how much it takes to make it!

Re: 1980 Nomura Racing Cruiser Alloy 26
MAN! I cannot sell this frame! This frame has the best geometry its like a mini cruiser but only a big boy bike! The other OS Cruisers have funky tall seat stays like road bikes. This baby is low and long like a JMC or Free Agent. So far I have Red & gold Bullseye Hubs, with Red and gold ano'd spokes and first Gen. Bullseye cranks freshly powdered in bright orange, funky I know, but a bit different it will be. I also have a set of mint Hutch pedals and cages that I bought of a BMX Badd Ass and hall of famer Cindy Davis. The pedals are outside a bit of the era but they look so bad ass mounted on the Bullseye's because the pedal boss is the same diameter as the pedal spindal. I was going to go with Redline's or Profile's but those cranks are far heavier and I already had the Bullseye's so I figured I would save money, time and wieght and be a little unique. I am trying to get a UNI pro Hammer head seat to keep this sucker light and I have always liked UNI's anyway. So far this project has been a nightmare but I will not give up! I need new cups for my Bullseye BB as well.

this looks like J. Silva's old cruiser frame.
Bill...
Don't know if this frame belonged to Jeff Silva or not,
but he did win 1 of the 6 National #1 Cruiser plates that
the Nomura Team won in 1981!
Jeff was from Northern California-as you know-and he
won the 11&Under Cruiser #1 plate while riding for NRP!
If this is Jeff's old frame, the info that Chris got was
incorrect,as he said the original owner had gotten it when
he was older than 11! Been a long time now...maybe the
ages that people remember 'have faded a bit?'
In any case,NRC DG 005 is the 'lowest numbered'
26" Nomura Cruiser that I've found so far!
Don't ever sell it Chris...it's a RARE piece of
BMX History...to say the least! GREAT BIKES!
26" Cruisers...outdated,outmoded...but still cool!

Re: 1980 Nomura Racing Cruiser Alloy 26
Jeff moved to Sacramento around the time he turned 13, like most of us on the Nomura team, who did not own a Cruiser, we borrowed someone else's (I usually ended up on Joe Discipulo's) I remember Jeff getting a Criuser around the time he moved to Sac.
Regardless of who owned it before, hold on to it it is a real treasure of a bicycle. I still have my 20" and would love to get any of the 3 Cruiser versions.

My friend here in Las Vegas owns serial # NRC DG 006. It is red, complete, and still has its original unstamped Landing Gear forks. The color has faded to a pink and the decals are a little rough. He wants to have it re-anodized and replace the decals, but only by a top notch plater. The decals will probably be the difficult part to find. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tell him not to restore it!! It`s worth more in it`s original state.
Still searching for my missing bikes from BITD. 1979 Blue Max serial: CI9 221346 and 1977 Webco serial: 42667. Big reward if found!!
