Now this post is long overdue, but I have to apologize because since I returned home to Barbados, I have gotten quite busy! Not to mention I recently celebrated my 26th birthday, and I can honestly say it was one of my best ones yet 🙂

During my visit to my sister Rachel in London, Ontario, we cooked quite a bit (and by we, I mean me), but we also indulged in dining out quite a bit too. Here I share some of my favorite pics, including restaurants I had to return to because when I first visited in 2015, they were just that GOOD!

Cheesin’ with my Rachie on the selfie stick 😉

Most of what you’re about to get into will be fattening… it will be starchy… it will dig deep down into the depths of your soul and reveal all sorts of salivating emotions within you.

The first restaurant featured is Montana’s. Pictured below are some of the best fish tacos I have ever tasted. The white fish was fried with so much love, tender on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Topped with a creamy chipotle sauce. Also pictured is one of the most savory caesar salads I have ever come across, which was garnished with bacon and fresh Parmesan cheese.

Next up!…I would be one of the last people to praise mall food, buttt Thai Express won my heart 10 years ago when I was living in Canada. To this day, every-single item on the menu is still nothing short of food orgasmic euphoria. Thai Express consistently uses fresh ingredients such as ginger, basil leaves – FRESH BASIL LEAVES, garlic, vegetables and more. This time I was craving their Pad Sew Noodles, which are thick egg noodles stir-fried with chicken, and fresh veggies in their signature sauce. I always top mine with Hoisin sauce. *my mouth is literally watering as I am thinking about it*

The cutest take-out packaging I ever did see 🙂

Thirdly, we have Jack Freakin’ Astors – Burger and Sweet Potato Fries of the year award. So nice, I had to visit twice. Crazy Juicy Beef Burger – check! Crispy Fried Onions – check! Smoked Bacon – check! Cheese and more cheese – check! Hickory Mayo Sauce – check! Not to mention this bad boy was accompanied with Sweet Potato Fries and Chipotle Mayo……whattttttt?!

Thai Foon is next on the list. Yes, yes I am a Thai Food fan. Rachel and I stumbled across this little gem during winter in 2015. I literally was so cold , tired of walking and hungry, that we popped right into the first restaurant we saw, and it turns out its one of the best decisions we have ever made – yes it was that dramatic and that life changing.

Imagine Panko Crusted Chicken served on top of wide rice noodle, broccoli, spinach, carrots, and peppers, topped with a decadent coconut milk peanut sauce – lawddddd av mercy.

My favorite – my absolute favorite dessert to this present moment in time, is THIS Deep Fried Ice Cream. It is vanilla ice cream with a crispy coating, flash fried and topped with whipped cream, cinnamon, chocolate and caramel sauce, and served in the most perfect cookie base that could ever be created in life. This is truly my definition of eternal bliss on this earth.

The final restaurant to make the list is the Indian gem. On my way back home to Barbados, I passed through Miami (my second home) for a couple of days. My good friend Kyle introduced me to a very authentic Indian restaurant called Ruchi Indian Cuisine. I cannot possibly remember every item on my plate as this was a buffet style lunch, but I know it does include Tandori chicken, Channa, Curried Goat, Basmati Rice, and Curry Chicken. I genuinely enjoyed every single item pictured below except the fried pastry. Every side was packed with flavour, spices, seasoning, and true authentic taste.

This was my first time trying all of these traditional Indian desserts, so I had to get a little taste of each one. Starting at the top is Rice Pudding, followed by Gajar Halwa which is a Punjabi dish made with carrots, and Gulab Famun, which are fried cheese balls soaked in cardamom flavoured sugar syrup. The rice pudding was my favorite of the 3, the Gulab Famun was slightly too sweet for me, and the Gajar Halwa was too carrotty…lol. If you’re ever in the Miami area, looking for amazing Indian food, I would definitely recommend Ruchi Indian Cuisine.

And that’s it! I truly had such a wonderful vacation, spending time with family and friends, and indulging in great food.

Thank you so much for visiting Bajan Bite, I hope you enjoyed the read! 🙂
