1. Marina Beach:-
Any body Visiting the Chennai City has a first wish to Visit Marina Beach. It is Situated in the heart of the Chennai City. It is considered one of the Longest Beach in India & Asia.
You need to have lot of patience to Walk on sand to see & Feel Sea waters on Marina Beach as its is very far away from the Main Road.Marina Beach starts from St. George Fort and Extends up to Besant Nagar approximately 12 Km Long. It is very sandy Width Beach. It has lot of Memorials ,Statues of Prominent Leaders & Saints.The tall Light house on the beach gives direction to Ships visiting Chennai Port & Fishermen’s going to sea in Night for Fishing.
The MGR Memorial of Former actor ,Chief Minister and AIADMK Leader Dr. M.G Ramachandran & Burial site of former Chief Minister Dr. C.N Annadurai Situated on Chennai Marina Beach.The Long queue of Stalls of Sea Side Vendors providing various gift items mainly of Sea Products are also a main Tourist attraction on the marina Beach. in ChennaiApart from this Madras University Building, MAC Chepauk Cricket Stadium are Situated just Opposite Marina Beach.Its nice to visit the Beach During Early Morning & Late Evening hours .Its a Chennai's Morning Joggers paradise.
2. Elliot’s Beach:-
Its also known as Besant Nagar Beach as it is Near Anne Besant Nagar.Its a small Beach Located in pose area of the Chennai City. Its Less Crowdy & Small in Length Compared to Marina Beach You Dont have to walk a lot of Distance in Sand to meet the waves of the Sea .It is Favorite Place for Sun Bath among the Foreign Tourists Visiting the Chennai City Since Clean, Calm & Less Crowdy.
The Beach attracts more Tourists as Astalakshmi Temple of Goddess Laxmi & Sacred Vellakani Chruch is Situated very near to it.A lot of Restaurants has Come up near the beach which Provides South indian ,North Indian & Western Foods. If you come During Durga Puja days .You can Enjoy Durga Puja Conducted by South Madras Bengali Association in a Pandal adjacent to Besant Bus Stand Every Year.The Wide & Free Roads along the Beach Invites Young Biker to test there Speed Limit. A Rolling Track is Located Near the Beach to Train small Children’s to test train with there Roller shoes.
3. Covelong Beach:-
Covelong beach is Situated far away from the Chennai city .Its is most beautiful place to spend time with scenic beauty full of Palm trees and Sand. Some of Ancient Church & Mosque are the other Places to Visit near the Beach.
Its also a fishing hamlet ,a lot of fishing is done from here which is interesting to Watch. The Covelong Beach has facilities for Water Sports like Surfing, swimming etc.With its ideal place & beauty It has slowly become a Beach Resort.
4. VGP Golden Beach:-
Its a Private Enclosure Cum Amusement Part & Beach Resort of VGP Group Located on East Coast Road a little far from City.Its a Favorite Destination for Families visiting Beach for Entertainment. Its one of the Favorite Shooting Location for Film Makers.
5.Mahabalipuram Beach:-
Its Situated Far away from the Chennai City on East Coast Road, It is Beach with Lot of Ancient Temples & Rock Cut Caves, Sculptures, a lot of them are in Ruined Stage.
