Ningde World Geopark Culture and Tourism Festival kicks off

The Culture and Tourism Festival at the second session of the Ningde World Geopark was held by the Fujian Provincial Tourism Bureau and the Ningde government in the Baishuiyang scenic area on Sept 16.

Liao Xiaojun, Party secretary of Ningde, welcomed visitors from home and abroad. He pointed out that Ningde is a growing bayside city with rich natural and cultural landscape resources. The government has paid great attention to its tourism industry. The years of hard work have helped the city create new tourism brand, especially when the Baishuiyang and Yuanyangxi scenic area was awarded as a national 5A scenic spot.

At the opening ceremony, the National Tourism Bureau officially granted the award to the city. A large-scale water performance and a sports event were carried out after the ceremony.
