This is my second time coming out to see Amy and Manchester Blooms, and again, it deeply filled my heart. I still don't do much around other people due to the ongoing COVID pandemic and being immuno compromised, so it was so nice to get to be around one or two folks, in huge open air space, picking flowers. Amy also has offered to do a masked private check in for anyone who needs it; just message here. I upgraded to the bucket and had no trouble making 4 arrangements. I will make it a plan to come back next year!!!

I stopped here on our drive back from Toronto to Michigan. Was surprised (only a little; it IS Canada) to find a place like this among the Taco Bell's and Tim Hortons of rest stops, but here it was. I ordered a salt lassi (a little less thick than I was used to, but still tasty) and paneer tikka masala to give it a try. They make it up fresh for you, so yes, there is a bit of a wait time while they prepare the food. You get a little rice, a little salad, and your curry. It was a bit different than I am used to; again, likely a US bias, but oh my goodness was it tasty. Moreover, the folks working there were super kind and friendly to boot! Absolutely plan on stopping here on our next international journey.

I am OBSESSED. Living in Michigan the past 5 years, I have had very little access to decent Thai food...usually just when I am traveling. Moreover, trying to balance being vegetarian (no eggs, no fish/seafood) and being GF (celiac) with my love of good Thai food is always a challenge. However, Araya's Place was up to it, and I had not one but two different delivery meals from here, both of which were really phenomenal.

I appreciated that even on their online ordering menu, everything was labeled SO well. Their chive dumplings are gluten free and absolutely delicious. Tom Kha was good, and their Raad Na was amazing, and I can almost never find places that do it vegan and GF. Pad thai, always a fairly safe bet (except in Michigan, where it is super sweet and served with lemon?!), was also tasty. Cannot recommend highly enough; I've been dreaming of this place ever since I got back to the Mitten!

I chose this hotel due to cost, location, and the fact we have a Graduate here in Ann Arbor that I have never had the pleasure of staying at. While on the way from the airport, the taxi driver noted this was mostly a college student hotel, so I got a bit nervous about the quality. However, the lobby was goregous with lots of interesting art and interior design, and the room was cute, comfortable, and funky, with our own interesting art pieces.

I will say it was VERY odd to not be able to lock our door at night (or ever) - not sure whether this was an ADA thing or if none of the rooms had locks, but I'd prefer not to navigate that again. Additionally, there were a lot of loud young people in the hallways (including at 2am one night), and often several drunk college aged students in the lobby taking awkward pictures. Not the worst thing ever (I'm a professor myself and appreciated the energy they brought), but that noise along with the construction made things a little rough.

That said, the shower was nice, the grab bars sturdy, the front desk folks attentive, and the crab wall paper in the bathroom was super cute. I'd consider staying here again, as long as it was during the school year.

I am actually fair enamored with this hotel!

I booked it for a local night of a writing retreat, to try and get more accomplished on my book, without knowing about the whole workout theme. Originally, I was a bit put off, as their parking lot was being sealed, so we had to park at a hotel next door, and go 4 wheeling with our luggage over grass. As a disabled person, I would have greatly appreciated a heads up (and had an ADA room booked, so they should have known this. Had I been a wheelchair user, I would not have been able to access the hotel.

That out of the way, I love most of the things here. With the exception of a gross, rusted out air vent by the pool, EVERYTHING here felt fresh and new. No carpet in the room meant I felt safer (both around COVID and mold), and while I could not care less about the exercise theme, my stiff back appreciated the foam roller and stretching bands in the room. I love the cool clock that could be a variety of colors, and the roll in shower (with size friendly shower chair and two shower heads) was phenomenal. The pool and hot tub were delightful (though the jets in the tub could use some support), and having it to myself made it even sweeter. In the room, I could not get the blinds to close with their fancy electronics...but I did appreciate all the plugs and USB connections all over.

Will absolutely come back if only for the cleanliness, accessible room, and pool. A joy to visit!
