The concept of design today has evolved with the changing times and environment. Design is much more than mere visual appeal now, it is strategy, an experience. It has moved on to Domain-specific areas like experience, motion and space design. Today it is more about collaborative problem solving to craft engaging product or service experiences that are enabled by technology. This dramatic change in outlook, given the challenging human to human connect in this virtual world, has led to a paradigm shift in the entire notion of design. Congruence of technology has pushed design to build smart, engaging and experiences. Today, a designer plays a role in many different contexts: from designing communications to designing businesses. As per the observations made in the Design in Tech report of 2017, ‘Computational designers will remain in demand at all companies of all sizes and maturity levels.’
