Bettor Cashes In on Historical MLB Night, Wins $100,000 on $78 Parlay Bet
August 13, 2015One bettor in Dublin had himself a pretty good day this week, all thanks to his betting on the home team in every MLB game on Tuesday.
According to ESPN.com's David Purdum, a 46-year-old bettor at the William Hill sportsbook in the United Kingdom turned a (relatively) small parlay bet into more than $100,000. That bet may have been the result of nothing more than luck.
Here was Tuesday's slate of games:

Fifteen games, 15 wins by the home team. According to the Elias Sports Bureau (via ESPN), Tuesday was the first time in MLB history that the home team won every game in which there were 15 games played on that day.
That historical night paid off in a big way for one lucky person. The bettor put down 50 pounds ($78.10) on a 15-leg parlay that featured every MLB home team on Tuesday and two correlated round-robin wagers. The result: a 64,543-pound ($100,810) payout.
Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook vice president Jay Kornegay, per Purdum, said that the historical night was a "terrible night" for his business, as it lost on 11 of the 15 games. While the sportsbooks may have had a rough night, it was a night to remember for one fortunate bettor.
