Sopore, Sep 29 (KNO): In a shocking revelation, it has come to fore that patients at Ahmad's Path lab and Super speciality clinic in North Kashmir's Sopore town were forcing patients to get unnecessary multiple medical tests from their lab, alleges a patient, however, the allegations levelled by the patient were refuted by the clinic authorities. The incident surfaced after the female patient from Sopore village alleged that the Doctor - who heads the private clinic and lab 'Ahmad's path lab' in Sopore were asked to do unnecessary medical tests even after the patient had undergone the said tests a day before from the different lab in the vicinity. Adfar, a 22-year-old (name changed) female patient from Zaingeer village of Sopore told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that she had went to a private clinic in Sopore for treatment and the Doctor namely Dr Tanveer Hassan Banday there told her to undergo blood sugar test even after she had done the same test a day before from another lab. However, the Dr didn't accept the said test and asked her to do HbA1c (Glycaemic control) test from his lab only. In the meanwhile, a test report came and was showing abnormal HbA1c (Diabetic from last three months) and the doctor diagnosed and gave medicines. "I was shocked to see the report and did a repeat test from two different labs in the vicinity and the report was entirely different that of Ahmad's lab clinic", she said. "I was not even asked by the lab to have a retake test to cross check the facts as the report results were quite strange to me", she added. Dr Tanveer - who owns the lab, told KNO, that there lies always a probability of technical errors as well as human one. “In case the patient is not satisfied with the test results, we can go through for the repeat,” he said. He, however, refutes the allegations levelled by the patient. "There may be a conspiracy to defame our lab. Let them give us a chance to counter the test, will retake her tests at our own cost", he said—(KNO)
